Description
Lecanora symmicta (Ach.) Ach., 1814 [Syn. Biatora symmictera (Nyl.) Räsänen, 1926] (photograph of a herbarium specimen taken through a dissecting microscope (x40), showing yellow-brown, convex apothecia of L. symmicta; not the apothecia with dark brown disks) This specimen was in Dr. Elmer George Worthley's personal lichen herbarium and the packet is labelled as follows: "Flora Fennica/ Biatora symmictera Nyl. f. trabalis Ach./ Savonia borealis: Pielavesi, Kallioselkä, Itäniitty ad lignum vetustum in pariete horrei./ Ex herb. Univ. Ouluensis/ leg. Kalle Huuskonen/ 3 IX 1960/" (No. 456); specimen is now in the Lichen Herbarium of the New York Botanical Garden.
